SELEKTA 13 YEAR ANNIVERSARY — LONDON ELEKTRICITY, DEGS & SINISTARR
13 years of Selekta. One massive celebration of drum & bass.
On Sunday, October 18th, Selekta celebrates its 13 Year Anniversary at North Outpost with a lineup bringing together international drum & bass talent alongside a stacked roster of local support.
Leading the night is London Elektricity with a special 3-hour extended set. The project of Tony Colman, London Elektricity has been a major force in drum & bass for decades. Colman co-founded the legendary Hospital Records in 1996, and London Elektricity became one of the label's flagship artists, helping shape the soulful, musical side of drum & bass through releases including Pull the Plug, Billion Dollar Gravy, Syncopated City and more.
Joining him from the UK is Degs, a vocalist, MC, songwriter and musician from the Hospital Records family. Known for combining rapid-fire MCing with melodic singing and songwriting, Degs brings together drum & bass with influences from R&B, hip-hop and soul. His breakout track "Poveglia" helped establish him within the scene before he went on to release projects including Letters From Ndegwa through Hospital Records.
Sinistarr takes over closing duties. The Detroit-rooted producer and DJ came up through drum & bass and has released music through respected labels including Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware and Exit Records while expanding his sound through jungle, footwork, techno and other corners of underground electronic music.
The night also features local support from ATZ, Bacon Beatz, Geicee, Psychonauts, Stray, Wet Denym and Xposure.
More than just another show, this night marks 13 years of Selekta and celebrates over a decade of bringing drum & bass to St. Louis. For the anniversary, Selekta is bringing together an artist who helped shape the sound and culture of Hospital Records, one of the label's contemporary vocal talents, an innovative American producer, and members of the local scene for a full day and night dedicated to drum & bass.
