About this event

Whale Songz is the duo project of solo singer/songwriters Olivia Barton and Annika Bennett. What started as a secret silly side quest of two best friends evolved into a real project, releasing two EPs of folk songs “Whale Songz Vol. 1” and “Whale Songz Vol. 2” about girlhood and friendship, and embarking on their first-ever tour as a duo summer 2026.

Olivia Barton is a songwriter whose 2025 album For Myself and For You was co-produced by Sam Skinner of Pinegrove in Brooklyn and toured in early 2026. Her 2022 album, This is a Good Sign, led to a co-write with Lizzy McAlpine on “Older” and an invitation to support McAlpine’s 2023 North American tour. The same year, she co-wrote “if i were a fish” with corook; the New York Times called it “a forgotten track off the Juno soundtrack.” She has shared stages with Lizzy McAlpine, Madi Diaz, Field Medic, Searows, and Leith Ross.

Annika Bennett is a New York-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer. She has written for Chappell Roan (“Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl”), Lauv (“Love U Like That”), Role Model (“Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” “Look At That Woman”), ILLIT (“Lucky Girl Syndrome”), and LE SSERAFIM & j-hope (“SPAGHETTI”). Her 2024 debut album Live From Mother Earth includes “A Tree Falls,” produced by John Mayer. Her self-written and self-produced EP Triple Shooting Star arrived in November 2025. She has toured supporting Sabrina Carpenter, Role Model, Medium Build, and Leith Ross, and joined Madison Cunningham’s tour in March 2026.
