Bret Alexander has been a perennial figure on the Pennsylvania music scene for over 30 years. As a performer, he plays around 200 shows a year, splitting his time between solo performances and his various band lineups. He is also highly sought after as a record producer and engineer, recording and mentoring dozens of artists each year from his studio, Saturation Acres.
But underneath it all, Bret’s first love is songwriting. All his musical and production chops extent from his passion of serving the song. The style can best be described as Americana, but there are an eclectic mix of elements at play. From the riff rock of Gentleman East, to the dark jangle of The Cellarbirds, through the weathered soul of his solo work, and back around to the layered acoustic pop of The Badlees, Bret has an outlet for all his various stylistic interests.
Lyrical themes center around family, love and hope and dreams, and the ties that bind.
