~~ What is Ecstatic Dance? ~~
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform dance meditation that allows you to embody your most joyful and playful self in a safe container.
This special collaboration between the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington and Soul Fire Experiences is hosted by Arielle Gould aka DJ electro-cute, a local DJ, conscious event curator, and avid ecstatic dancer with a passion for the conscious community and creating spaces for people to be connected to their bodies, community, and joyful expression. You can expect to hear music with influences from all around the world and eras. The intent is to create a sacred dance container where we can expand our consciousness, build community and allow our inner child to dance and be free for all ages and walks of life.
The event begins with an embodiment warmup to get us tapped into our bodies, goes straight into dance meditation with a live DJ, and cools down with a sound healing experience.
This is a 2 room experience with one room as a dedicated dance floor and one room curated as a “chill out room”. The chill-out room is intended as a lower stimulation space for rest, low volume conversations, tea, and enjoying offerings from local vendors including energy & tarot readings, body work, jewelry, and more!
The rules of the container are simple:
- Consent first! ALWAYS wait for consent before dancing with someone, if you don’t wish to dance with someone put your hands in a prayer position to thank them and move along.
- No shoes. So we don’t step on anyone’s toes.
- No chit chat on the dance floor. Yelling out in joy is allowed!
- No alcohol or substances. This way, we can stay super present with each other.
- No photos or video of the dance floor. Photos and videos of the DJ are allowed with the DJ’s consent.
- All forms of movement or rest is encouraged! Go cuddle up in the chill-out room with a blanket and pillow and take a sensory break. The music will be waiting for you when you’re ready to return!

$15 growing economic tickets available in limited supply ONLINE ONLY
$20 EARLY BIRD tickets available until Nov 11!
$25 tickets available online up until 1 hour before the dance
$30 is the standard door ticket price.
$30 community sustainer tickets will be available online in unlimited supply. These tickets are an opportunity for those who would like to pay a little more now to ensure that our dance community is sustainable and continues for months and years to come ❤️

The church has also offered to cover costs for those who are in financial hardship but are unable to volunteer for accessibility reasons. Reach out to the organizer or UUCA directly for more info.
Schedule:
2-2:15: welcome & get settled, leave your shoes and personal items in a cubby or in the chill room.
2:15-2:45- embodiment warm up
2:45-4:15pm - dance flow
4:20-5:15 - sound healing cool down
5:15-5:30 - community sharing circle: share one word to describe your experience, longer discussion about anything that came up for you, and share community announcements
Plenty of parking available in the large parking lot. Please enter through the front door and come down the stairs to the basement. Elevators available.
