About this event
DANCE. CREATE. HEAL.
A Community Art-Making & Dance Experience
Join us for a unique fusion of community activism and soulful dance. We are gathering at Life On Art’s Studio for an afternoon of creative connection and joyful movement. HeartBeats is co-hosted by a trio of Petaluma parents who host dance parties to uplift and celebrate community — Arron Maurer, aka DJ Urn, Jessica Rios & Casey Miller — and Life On Art, a Petaluma-based nonprofit dedicated to uniting people through collaborative art-making to heal trauma, strengthen communities, and inspire social action.
3:00 PM | You’ll be creating Life on Art's Signature 18-inch Winged Heart which will be shared with Life On Art’s partners in prisons, state hospitals, and transitional home communities.
4:30 PM | You’ll be dancing beneath "Unbound," a nationally recognized installation of 800 hearts originally created in collaboration with Napa State Hospital and 1,500 community members which represents the power of collective healing.
