XYPHEN
Hailing from the DMV, Producer/DJ, Ryan "XYPHEN" Lee, is looking to shake up the scene in a way you can't help but notice. Specializing in heavy bass and hyped- up remixes of classic tracks, when XYPHEN hits the decks, everybody knows what's going down.
Music has always been an integral part of Ryan's life, and it's manifested through his multi-instrumental capabilities and refined production/mixing skills as well. Coming from a mostly instrumental background, funny enough, the now renown dubstep producer recounts not ever taking a liking to electronic music early in his career.
"I remember always feeling like making music completely on the computer was unauthentic. I felt like I needed to be playing an instrument or hitting keys on a piano in order for it to be 'real music.' But boy was I in for a rude awakening."
The artist embarked on a singer-songwriter project before XYPHEN was ever even coined, but got to a point where he felt deeply uninspired and was hitting a wall on that endeavor. He almost gave up on music completely, believing he wasn't cut out for it.
But after attending his first festival in 2021, his viewpoint changed completely. He saw the stages, the lights, he felt the bass in his chest, he felt the pyro hitting his face, and he came out of that experience thinking, "THAT is what I want to do."
"The ultimate goal for XYPHEN and this whole entire project is to help people in the same way music has helped me. Without music, I would be nothing, absolutely nothing. It's given me a way to express myself, a way to let it all out when I don't know how else I can. It's opened so many doors for me and allowed me to meet so many new people and have so many crazy experiences I would've never had the chance to otherwise."
