Hey there fairy folk and fantastical creatures,
I invite you to join my friends and I for an afternoon of intentional creativity, presented in three Acts:
Doors open at 4:30pm - Come in and get acclimated to the space, enjoy some ethically sourced Cacao or drop by Karishma for a reiki healing.
Act I: Sound Healing w/ Tibetan Bowls
(5:15pm - 6pm)
Maggie Benavides will help us ground into our creative bodies and tap into our expressive energies through a guided sound healing meditation. 🪷
"Experience a deeply relaxing Sound Healing Journey with Tibetan Bowls and immerse yourself in soothing vibrations that invite calm, balance, and renewal. Inspired by traditional teachings I learned in Nepal, this experience offers a peaceful escape to reconnect and restore."
-- Maggie
Act II: Parallel Play through Art Workshops
(6pm - 8pm)
For the next two hours, you will each choose an interactive art workshop exploring a different medium to engage with. I want you to choose the workshop that resonates most with you, your style, the type of expression that is most aligned with what you need to say. Our goal is to create, to hold something in our hands by then end of the night, point to it, and say, “I made that!”
Workshops will be hosted simultaneously and include:
1) Earth to Art: Emotion Watercolor Workshop facilitated by Adrianna Reloba 🎨
2)✨ THE WATER MASTER WORKSHOP — EXPLORING THE EMOTIONAL BODY ✨ facilitated by Evelly Martinez 📰
3) Songwriting Games facilitated by Zane Potorti 🎸
4) Acting & Improv Comedy Playshop facilitated by Sha Golanski 🎭

Act III: Show & Tell!
(8pm - 10pm)
After the workshops, we will transition into a Show & Tell. I invite you to come up to the stage and present what you created during your chosen workshop! Tell us why you chose the medium, what moved you to create your piece and why it resonates with you. We will, in turn, admire and appreciate your unique style and creativity!
Depending on time/turnout we may also open the mic for musical acts and spoken word poetry like a traditional open mic.
This is a new idea and I am excited to see how it resonates with our community. For the spaceholders who have supported my creative and interpersonal growth this year, this is my way of showing gratitude to you specifically for inspiring me to hold space in my own way.
Additionally, Sha, the Plant Based Pirate, will be vending Cacao and Karishma (Miracle Movement) will be offering reiki healing to help you move through and clear blockages in your energetic body.
This will be a ticketed event to help support our wonderful facilitators and to cover materials.
Location: Art Hall, 5515 Cherokee Ave, Alexandria VA.

MORE INFO ABOUT WORKSHOPS:
1) Earth to Art: Emotion Watercolor Workshop:
Step into a soft, earthbound creative ritual where color becomes feeling and art becomes reflection. We’ll begin by exploring the emotional symbolism of color, movement, and shape, then journey with a demonstration through the process of transforming botanicals into watercolor pigment. Each guest will get to craft a unique hue to add to our collective palette. From there, we’ll paint intuitively with each creating an abstract piece that feels less like perfect artwork and more like small maps of the inner self. The goal: to paint our peace—together. 🌿🎨✨
2) ✨ THE WATER MASTER WORKSHOP — EXPLORING THE EMOTIONAL BODY ✨
Through papier-mâché, art, and emotional exploration, this workshop guided by the Water Master of Hello Angels invites participants to give physical form to their emotions and connect with their emotional body in a creative, intuitive, and deeply personal way.
Together, we will explore how emotions live within the body and how art can become a bridge for observing, expressing, releasing, and transforming what we feel, while creating a meaningful 3D piece filled with intention and emotional energy.
3) Songwriting Games with Zane
This collaborative songwriting workshop is all about creative momentum over perfection. We’ll start with fast, stream-of-consciousness writing prompts, then transform those ideas into rhythm, melody, and simple songs in small groups with the help of musicians and facilitators. By the end of the session, every participant will leave with an original song containing lyrics, rhythm, and chords.
No musical experience is required — just bring something to write with and an openness to play. Musicians are encouraged to bring portable instruments if possible (guitar, ukulele, small percussion, etc.), but voices and body percussion work great too.
4) Acting & Improv Comedy Playshop
Explore a variety of acting exercises and improv comedy games, culminating in improvised scenes. Let's get theatrical! 🎭
