A Winter Solstice Celebration of Sound, Ceremony & Creation
Join us for an afternoon and evening that moves from ritual to production to dance—where you'll learn to create electronic music that heals, transforms, and honors the rhythms of Earth.
WELCOMING & WORKSHOP TIMELINE (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM — Cacao Gathering & Earth Altar
We open with a heart-opening cacao gathering, bringing you into presence and re-awakening your senses for the journey ahead. We prepare an altar for the Earth, celebrating the winter solstice.
4:00 PM – 6:30 PM — Deep Listening + Music Production Workshop
Deep Listening: Nature as the Guide to Self
A meditative Shinrin-yoku practice inspired by Japan and woven with the Amazon, guided by Lola Villa.
We’ll listen to field recordings, natural soundscapes, and ambient environmental audio—exploring what actually makes a sound healing: frequency, rhythm, texture, the space between. Using Earth’s rhythms, we drop into a parasympathetic state and full presence.
Producing and Performing with Nature in Ableton Live 12.3
Lola Villa shares her process for transforming raw environmental recordings into drums, textures, and melodies inside Ableton Live—featuring her Splice sample packs from the Amazon and Río Magdalena.
You’ll learn micro-sampling, extracting rhythm from leaves, creating melody from bird calls, and letting nature guide arrangement and pacing.
When we weave natural sounds into electronic music, we encode nervous system regulation and a sense of “home” into the track—making music a bridge between the club and the forest.

Rest, nourish, and integrate before we dance.
