The Waiting isn’t your average tribute act. Based in Bozeman, Montana, this powerhouse rock ‘n’ roll band pays homage to the legendary Tom Petty—not by impersonating him, but by channeling the heart and soul of his music. With deep respect and zero pretense, The Waiting delivers a raw, heartfelt celebration of Petty’s expansive catalog.
Formed in 2013, the group has been “bringing the Petty” to towns across the Northwest and beyond, performing everything from Heartbreakers classics and solo deep cuts to Traveling Wilburys gems. What sets them apart is their chemistry: a true band of seasoned musicians and longtime friends who bring their own fire and finesse to every performance, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the originals.
With electrifying energy, rich harmonies, and an unapologetic love for rock 'n' roll, The Waiting gives audiences a show that feels less like a reenactment and more like a revival. It’s not about dress-up. It’s about dialing in and letting the music speak—just like Tom did.

Originally built as the First Presbyterian Church in 1896, The Covellite Theatre a medium-capacity (350 capacity) proscenium stage venue, and The Uptown Lounge on the ground floor is an intimate (150 capacity) scene with a bar, cabaret seating, and a black box stage.
