a Sacred Space of Music, Myth, and Movement
in honor of the living presence of the divine feminine CERES
Join us for a night of astrology, storytelling, dance, and sound immersion in honor of the asteroid goddess Ceres (also known as Demeter in Greek mythology). In the Velvet Observatory, we learn about and explore how the mythic and astrological aspects of Ceres are alive in each of us, through our charts, hearts, and bodies.
Ceres is known as the protector of plant growth, soil fertility, and seasonal/ agricultural cycles. She ensures the harvest and protects the environmental conditions for abundance. She symbolizes fertility in all of life and also motherhood. She can be called upon to defend our basic civil rights, as well.
We celebrate the divine goddesses of western astrology with an open welcome to all. This is a space that uplifts the divine feminine in all of us.
Your co-hosts are a somatically trained DJ, a sound bath artist, and an astrologer with deep training in shadow work. We have come together to create the Velvet Observatory as a place to remind us of the embodiment and animate presence of all the asteroid goddesses.
During our 2.5 hour gathering, you will experience...
A welcomed landing — arrive and settle in, enjoy tea with us
A sacred lesson — listen to the story weaving of the myth of Ceres (Demeter) + how to understand her astrology in our individual charts
An embodied ritual — join in a guided intention-setting to honor Ceres
A DJ'd dance set — move to 40-minute downtempo, ecstatic music attuned to the goddess
A sacred sound bath — relax into 30 minutes of nourishing sound
A heart-full closing — pour more tea, chat with others, and continue to connect with Athena's divine energy

About Ticketing Options
We aim to build a community that joins us for a series--later this year we will be celebrating Black Moon Lilith!
Our ticketing levels include general admission ($25).
We also have a ticket level that includes general admission, along with a goddess altar bag that contains items such as crystals, incense, feathers, and other specially selected items unique to the goddess; each bag is made with love for your home altar ($50).

All About Your Hosts
DJ CIANA is a bilingual creative force: a writer, translator, event creatrix, and DJ, who has lived in Latin America, Italy, New York, and Los Angeles. She’s somatically trained with Tasha Blank’s Powerhouse DJ School, and she’s a part of the eco-performance, global Collective BAE, as well as the Support Women DJs movement. Ciana fuses everything from Afrobeats, riddim, and amapiano to Latin, organic, funky deep house, neosoul, nu disco, and chillwave pop remixes. SOUND BATH ARTIST SANAZ SOUNDS has been practicing yoga and energy work for over 20 yars. During the pandemic, she discovered sound healing and was deeply moved by its calming and heart opening effects. She studied Davidji style meditation and trained with Jodi McLean at Red Dragon Yoga in Mill Valley. Now, Sanaz shares the healing vibrations of sound to help others find peace, stillness, and connection. @sanazsounds
